Common questions
How long does an acoustic report take?
The acoustic report process varies depending on the size and complexity of the project. For a standard residential project, on-site measurement and reporting is typically completed in 3 to 5 business days. For hospitals, schools, or large commercial buildings, simulation work can extend this to up to 10 days.
Is an acoustic report required for a building permit?
Yes — under the regulation dated 31 May 2017, submitting an acoustic report or project at the permitting stage is a legal requirement for all new buildings.
Who can sign an acoustic report?
Only architects or engineers holding a D1 certificate authorized by Turkey's Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change can sign the report.
Can a report be obtained for existing buildings?
Yes, an acoustic report can be prepared for existing buildings to measure sound-insulation performance or to obtain a permit for a change of use (renovation).
What's the difference between D1 and D2 certification?
A D1 certificate authorizes preparing architectural acoustic projects and reports, while a D2 certificate is separately required for on-site measurement and use of test equipment. Our office holds both qualifications.
How is the report fee determined?
The fee is calculated per project based on the building's gross construction area, number of floors, intended use, and the required measurement/simulation workload. Share your project details with us for an exact quote.
Can the municipality reject the report?
A report can be returned by the relevant authority if it doesn't meet the format and content requirements set out in the regulation. Our office minimizes this risk by preparing reports in line with current legislation.
Is there an inspection during construction?
Yes, an on-site check during the rough and finishing construction stages is recommended to confirm the work matches the project; we can also take on this inspection on request.
